Recode tables

The Wizard icon in the toolbar of the tables window provides access to various functions according to the specific window. One of these is the Recoding function.

The Recoding data processing allows you to modify the codes assigned to the tables

To do that, it is necessary to:

  • Access the recoding menu

  • Create a row for each code to be modified by specifying: the current Code and the New code that will replace it. The Primary flag indicates that the row will prevail in the event of conflict with another row

  • Save
  • click on Run.

In the Categories tables it is possible to choose between Recode Elements and Recode nodes

On the Scenarios table it is necessary to choose between Recode Original Scenarios and Recode Consolidation Scenarios

To recode a node of a Custom dimension, it is necessary to access the windows for the management of the dimension's hierarchies. The wizard icon in the window's toolbar allows you to recode a node of any hierarchy.

The recoding for the analytical dimensions is temporarily suspended from SP17.

At runtime, the data processing verifies that:

  • you are not trying to recode a user whose code starts with $;
  • the new codes do not contain any forbidden character;
  • the new codes do not already exist in the table, namely if you are trying to replace a user code with an existing one

The recoding operation includes the recoding of forms that may contain the element whose code is being changed. This operation can be time consuming. Please note that direct references to the codes contained in the textual scripts internal to the report are not recoded: cell fields, Advanced selection scripts, queries do not support the recoding operation.

Recode Journal number

This data processing can be accessed from Setup and Admin > Data processing tile > Purge data > Data tables

Navigation panel> Data processing > Purge data > Data tables

In the window that pops up, create a row for each journal to be recoded and then specify Scenario, Journal number, New code (journal).

The Recode flag indicates that the row it refers to would prevail in the event of conflict with another row

Recoding is not possible on AIH.
