The Open form window (Action List Wizard)

Excel > CCH® Tagetik > Design Design > (left-hand panel) click form > > Hyperlink > select Open form >

Purpose of window

This window allows you to select one or more forms to be opened via the hyperlink and to set their parameters and the modes in which they are run via the hyperlink.

Window structure

Based on the characteristics of the target form, the window can may show the following:

  • Definition of run parameters (only if the selected forms contain run parameters)
  • Definition of the mode in which the target form is opened

Options in the definition of run parameters

Option Description
Inherit from context The system retrieves the value of the parameter from the filters of the cell from which the hyperlink is opened or from the form/tab filters. For example, if there are several sheets in a form and a different entity has been defined for each sheet, to open the target form the system uses the entity defined in the sheet from which the hyperlink is opened. If the hyperlink is contained in a transactional form matrix, the dimensional parameters of the form being run can inherit their value from the row containing the hyperlink and the parameter dimension from the column containing the hyperlink. Values on dimensions with display mode set to description only are not inherited.
Inherit parameters The system retrieves the value of the parameter from the value of the corresponding parameter in the source form. This is only possible if the source form parameters belong to the same dimension and hierarchy as the target form parameters.
Excel Cell The system retrieves the value of the parameter from an Excel cell. This cell must be specified using the syntax ${cell coordinates}. For example, ${A5} corresponds to cell A5.
Select Allows the user to select the value of the parameter from a list of possible values.
Cell field The system retrieves the value of the parameter from a cell field. For a transactional Analytical Workspace form, the cell field is also calculated considering the dimensional field of the row that has the same dimension as the parameter to be defined. In this case, the dimensional field has priority over form or matrix filters. The only dimension fields considered are the ones that have code or code and description display mode.
+System parameter (Only if the hyperlink opens several forms) Allows you to set system parameters that are valid for running all forms.
+AdHoc parameter (Only if the hyperlink opens several forms) Allows you to set ad hoc parameters that are valid for running all forms.

Options when defining the mode in which the form opens

Option Description
Data entry The target form opens in Data Entry mode.
Inherit from the source form The target form will open in the same mode in which the source form was opened. For example, if the source form was run in Data Entry mode, the target form will also open in Data Entry mode.
Navigation The target form opens in Navigation mode.
