Working with the Rules Engine Designer

Relate rules and nodes from the rules page

  1. Select the rule type tab (amounts, entity journals, consolidation journals) in which to create relationships.
  2. In the Attributes tab > Groupings, click : the Nodes window will open.
  3. In Groupings, select the node of rules to relate, then click Confirm operation.

  1. In the left-hand column, select All elements, then select the rule to be related.
  2. Drag the rule into the desired node or sub-node in the left-hand column, or, if they are displayed in the central section, into the folder that shows the desired node.

Enable the running of Rules Engine Designer data processing

Before activating the data processing, the process must have been correctly set up; see .

  1. Select the desired process.
  2. Select > Process Definition.
  3. In the Data Processing section, to enable the editing of settings, click Locked.
  4. Select Basic Consolidation data processing > Rules Engine Designer.
  5. Click Save.

This activation is only possible in Processes that use the “In-Memory” consolidation engine.

  1. Select the desired process.
  2. Select > Process Definition.
  3. In the Data Processing section, to enable the editing of settings, click Locked.
  4. Select Basic Consolidation data processing > Rules Engine Designer > On entity.
  5. Click Save.

  4. Select Basic Consolidation data processing > Rules Engine Designer > On consolidation area.
  5. Click Save.

Prepare an execution plan

This procedure allows you to indicate, in the process, the node of Rules Engine Designer rules to be applied by individual scenario/period, differentiating by entity for the original scenario and by entity and/or consolidation for the consolidation scenarios, if desired.

  1. Select the desired process.
  2. Select > Process Definition.
  3. In the Data Processing section, to enable the editing of settings, click Locked.
  4. Select Basic Consolidation data processing > Rules Engine Designer > : the Rules Engine Designer - Execution Plan page will open.
  5. In the Define Original Scenarios tab, specify the following:
  6. the entity or node of entities to be processed
  7. the node of rules for every entity/node of entities to be processed
  8. If desired, you can specify the scenario/period from among those belonging to the process.
  9. In the Define Consolidation Scenarios tab, specify the following:
  10. the entity or node of entities to be processed
  11. the node of rules for every entity/node of entities to be processed
  12. If desired, you can specify the scenario/period from among those belonging to the process.
  13. If useful, filter the entities by consolidation method.
  14. Click Save: a deployment of the entities belonging to the indicated nodes will be run on saving.
  15. Click Definition result to view details of the generated rows.
