BOUND function in a sum

The "Bound" function is used when it is necessary to sum up one or more elements, some of which have the reading from fixed point option so as to get the correct result and to avoid losing data like in the standard sum in presence of non-homogeneous operands.

The syntax of this function is:

Bound( , “name”, )

Technically, when this function is used, the system deploys the domain of each account belonging to the sum (the domain is the combination of the various dimensions for which the account is set) in accordance with the specified domain in the Bound utility.

Let us assume that we have

[LO].@temp := [D00000];

[LO].[X00000] := Bound(@temp, “bound”, @temp + [C00000](Dest1.[D11]));

namely, the Bound expression is the D00000 account and that data present on the database are:

CONTO INPUT C00000

Entity Account Scenario Category Dest1 Dest2 Period Amount
A00 C00000 2013BDG $AMOUNT D11 D21 01 50
A00 C00000 2013BDG $AMOUNT D11 D22 01 30

CONTO INPUT D00000

Entity Account Scenario Category Dest1 Dest2 Period Amount
A00 D00000 2013BDG $AMOUNT D13 D21 01 10
A00 D00000 2013BDG $AMOUNT D11 D22 01 20
A00 D00000 2013BDG $AMOUNT D12 D23 01 5

the domain of the C00000 account is deployed in accordance with the domain of the BOUND deployment; the result is

Entity Account Scenario Category Dest1 Dest2 Period Amount
A00 C00000 2013BDG $AMOUNT D13 D21 01 50
A00 C00000 2013BDG $AMOUNT D11 D22 01 30
A00 C00000 2013BDG $AMOUNT D12 D23 01 0

At this point, we have a standard sum of homogeneous operands whose result is:

Entity Account Scenario Category Dest1 Dest2 Period Amount
A00 X00000 2013BDG $AMOUNT D13 D21 01 50 +10
A00 X00000 2013BDG $AMOUNT D11 D22 01 30 + 20
A00 X00000 2013BDG $AMOUNT D12 D23 01 0 + 5
