Restatement Utility

Introduction¶
The restatement utility allows data on a stacked scenario to be generated as the sum of data from a basic scenario and delta scenarios.
Workflow¶
Below are the restatement generation steps.
The administrator user enables the contributor and consolidator's activities:
- Template Definition (see Restatement)
- Process deployment
- User rights deployment
- Preliminary data processes on the original stacked scenario and on the stacked consolidation scenarios.
The contributor or consolidator user collects data on delta scenarios:
- Data entry
- Possible execution of data processes on the original scenarios
The consolidator user generates new consolidated data:
- Copy of consolidation scenario configurations on stacked scenarios (consolidation area and execution plans)
- Deployment of configurations on consolidation scenarios
- Copy of time-dependent information (time‑dependent hierarchy relationships for Entity and custom dimensions)
- Execution of Restatement Utility
- Execution of data processing on original and consolidation scenarios
Available options
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Input Dimension | |
| Template | Template / basic original scenario You can select the templates that have an active stacked original scenario, with at least one non-stacked period belonging to the process, and at least one active stacked consolidation scenario. |
| Periods | It is possible to choose among the periods defined for the basic scenario/template selected. Periods that belong to the process and are not blocked for the stacked scenario are available. |
| Advanced settings | |
| Copy data | Allows you to copy data from the basic and delta scenarios to the stacked scenario. |
| Copy configurations | Allows you to copy configurations from the basic scenario to the delta and stacked scenarios |
Copy of data¶
Data are copied if the corresponding 'Copy Data' option is enabled.
The following data is copied:
- Gross amount
- IC amounts
- Entity and consolidation journals (including consolidation scenario filters)
- Reconciliation account
- Note
- IC cockpit - Comments
- Overridden FX rates in memory
- Overrides on Original Scenario - Carry Forward on Gross Amounts, IC amounts, Entity and consolidation journals
Data is read from the original basic and delta scenarios for the selected periods and copied onto the original stacked scenario.
For data rows with consolidation scenarios (journal filters on consolidation scenarios and overridden FX rates), data is read from the basic consolidation scenarios selected and copied to the relevant stacked consolidation scenarios, if enabled and with unlocked run periods.
Before copying, data already present on the stacked scenario for the selected periods is deleted, with the exception of rows with origin generated by carry forward data processing.
Data rows with input sources (INPUT_WEB, INPUT_DEFORM, MAP_%, BREAK_BACK, SUB_INPUT_WEB , SUB_INPUT_DEFORM, SUB_MAP_%, SUB_BREAK_BACK, COPY_GENERAL, COPY_PERIOD, COPY_SEGMENT) are copied.
For tables containing amounts (amounts, journals, Reconciliation accounts and overrides), the data rows are grouped together, and the amount fields are summed when all fields match (except Scenario, User Upd, Date Upd and Origin).
For tables that do not contain amounts, rows are not grouped.
Journal headers¶
For journal headers, the input source filter does not apply; therefore, all manual and automatic headers are copied.
The deletion of existing headers on the stacked scenario is only carried out if the journal has no rows.
If the same journal number is present in more than one reading scenario (basic and delta) with the same value for the following header fields:
- Entities
- Custom dimension 2 (only for entity/custom dimension 2 relationship type)
- Category
- Currency
The header attributes are taken from the journal in the basic scenario, if present; otherwise, from the journal in the delta scenario with the lowest code.
If, on the other hand, the value of the above-mentioned fields differs, a blocking message is displayed and the copying process cannot continue.
The draft journals' headers are copied but the rows are not.
Overridden FX rates¶
For the overridden FX rates, the rows are copied:
- without consolidation scenario
- or with basic consolidation scenario present in the selected template, provided that the respective stacked consolidation scenario is active and the run periods are not blocked.
The sorting of the rows of overridden FX rates copied to the stacked scenario is as follows:
- FX rates of the basic scenario
- FX rates of delta scenarios (in ascending order of scenario code)
the overridden FX rates in each delta scenario have a higher order than those in the basic scenario and in the previous delta scenarios.
Manual overridden FX rates on the stacked scenario are permitted. The deletion of rows already existing in the stacked scenario only affects rows whose origin is generated by the restatement (COPY_GENERAL) and by the FX rate loading data processing (CONS_EXCHRATE_DEPLOY).
Any manually entered overridden FX rates in the stacked scenario are automatically placed after the FX rates copied from the restatement, in terms of sorting.
IMPORTANT: If it is necessary to modify the overridden FX rates generated by the restatement in the stacked scenario, it is recommended to insert new manual rows with a higher sorting order, and not to delete or modify the rows generated by the utility, because:
- in case of deletion, at the next restatement launch, the rows present in the basic scenario and in the delta scenarios will be inserted again in the stacked scenario
- in case of modification, modified rows will be considered as manually entered rows
Copy of configurations¶
If the 'Copy configurations' option is enabled, the following configurations will be copied to the original scenarios:
- FX Rates
- Tax rates
- Time-dependent entity list
- Override Entity parameters on original scenarios
- Rules Engine Designer execution plan on original scenarios
- Accounts reclassification and NER execution plan on original scenarios
- Minorities - Setup Periodic minorities calculation - Event management
- Override Pick-up percentages
Configurations are taken from the original basic scenario for the run periods and are copied to the original delta and stacked scenarios.
For execution plans, rows with undefined period are also copied.
IMPORTANT:
- Before copying, any existing configurations on the original delta and stacked scenarios for the run periods are deleted. Therefore, any rows entered or modified on the stacked and delta scenarios will be lost.
- Configurations are copied even if the process parameterisation is locked.
Generated origin¶
The origin generated by the restatement utility is COPY_GENERAL
Warnings and restrictions¶
IMPORTANT:
- For Rules Engine Designer, dynamic markup is not supported on delta and stacked scenarios (due to scenario coding).
- If the utility generates an error, the stacked scenario may contain inconsistent data, meaning that only part of the data and configurations may have been copied.
- The 'Import financial investment data into ownership structure register' data processing must not be performed on the delta and stacked scenarios, otherwise the input from the basic scenario will be lost.
- Consolidation scenarios saved in the selected template, but no longer connected to the original basic scenario, are excluded from the copy.
- The restatement utility cannot be used for processes with a 'Unique' number of business cycles, because after submission, delta and stacked scenarios/periods cannot be changed.
- The utility does not copy the data and configurations of the archived basic and delta scenarios/periods.
- Journal documents are not copied.
- The merger configuration is not copied.
