Working with advanced consolidation data processing

Set the Equity pick-up data processing calculation method

  • To apply the cumulated method, insert the selected period number in Pick-up period length.
  • To apply the periodic method, insert the number of periods between the selected period and the previous period processed with EPU data processing in Pick-up period length, and the selected period number in Pick-up account period length.

Activate the running of data processing for intercompany asset assignments

Once the asset classes have been defined and the data related to assignment events has been entered, this procedure allows you specify the processes for which the calculation of intercompany asset assignments is activated.

  1. Select the process on which to activate the data processing.
  2. Click > Process Definition .
  3. In the Data Processing > Consolidation > Advanced Consolidation section, select Intercompany Asset Assignment.
  4. Repeat step 1 for all processes on which the data processing is to be activated.

CCH Tagetik applies the return to group historical cost principle and automatically generates the necessary consolidation journals.

Gene a depreciation plan for an intercompany asset assignment

Navbar > Events > Intragroup asset assignment > select process

  1. If necessary, click to generate a new intercompany asset assignment event.
  2. In the Attributes tab, set all the fields related to the event.
  3. Click > Create depreciation plans.
  4. Select the desired depreciation plans (Seller and/or Buyer) then click Run: the depreciation plans will be generated by overwriting any pre-existing plans.

Run intercompany asset assignments data processing from the consolidator processes cockpit

IMPORTANT: Intercompany asset assignment data processing must be enabled for the selected process.

Procedure from the Overview tab

  1. In the Overview tab, select one or several nodes on which to run the data processing.
  2. To run all data processing, in the Actions section, select Consolidation data processing > Standard.
  3. To run consolidation data processing only, in the Actions section, select Consolidation data processing > Custom: the consolidation data processing setup window will open.
  4. For the Group Data Processing option, select Run.
  5. Click Run to activate the data processing.

Procedure by the Consolidation scenarios tab

  1. In the Consolidation scenarios tab, select one or several nodes on which to run the data processing.
  2. To run all data processing, in the Actions section, select Consolidation data processing > Standard.
  3. To run consolidation data processing only, in the Actions section, select Consolidation data processing > Custom: the consolidation data processing setup window will open.
  4. For the Group Data Processing option, select Run.
  5. Click Run to activate the data processing.

Run the intercompany asset assignments data processing from a data entry form

  1. Open the desired form in design mode.
  2. Click Data processing in the Design tool bar.
  3. Alternatively, in the left-hand Open items panel, select the form in which to insert the data processing and right click Run Data processing > New Data processing.
  4. In the window that appears, select Consolidation > CONSOLIDATION_ELAB - Consolidation, then click Next.
  5. Set the parameters necessary for the data processing.

Note: parameters shown in bold are mandatory. 6. Specify how the value of the parameter is to be retrieved.

For detailed information on the values that can be selected in these fields, see 7. In Original scenario/period, indicate the scenario/period on which to run the data processing. 8. In Consolidator nodes, indicate the nodes of entities on which to run the data processing. 9. Select the Run Group consolidation data processing option. 10. Assign a code and description to the data processing. 11. To run the data processing, reopen the form in data entry mode, click Data Processing in the tool bar and select the desired data processing.

Run the intragroup asset assignments data processing from a workflow task

This procedure illustrates how to run intercompany asset assignment from a task specifically created within a business workflow.

  1. Select the workflow step within which to insert the run data processing task.
  2. Click Edit: you can then edit the graph.
  3. From the Core data processing group, select and drag the Consolidation icon to the graph: a task parameter configuration window will open.
  4. Select the Run Group consolidation data processing option.

Run the intragroup asset assignments data processing from a job task

This procedure illustrates how to run intercompany asset assignment from a task specifically created within a job.

  1. Select the job within which to insert the running of the data processing.
  2. Click Edit: you can then edit the graph.
  3. From the Core data processing group, select and drag the Consolidation icon to the graph: a task parameter configuration window will open.
  4. Select the Run Group consolidation data processing option.
  5. To run or schedule the job, click Review and launch from the read only view of its graph.
  6. In the next step, define all the parameters for each task and click Run to run the data processing immediately or on Schedule to schedule the data processing to run at another time.
