Cell editability

When designing the data entry form, it is necessary to define which cells are to be made editable, i.e. which cells contain values that can be modified by the user. Every time data is saved in the form, the system performs the following checks:

  • The dimension filters set when opening the form for the current cell are single elements of one dimension and not nodes. This condition applies only if break back is enabled on the selected process, which allows data entry at node level (see the Break Back function)
  • The user has the rights to edit and save data on the filters selected when opening the form.
  • All dimensions indicated as filters, in particular the account, are associated with the application process.
  • There are no restrictions among the dimensions defined as form filters.

Cells are editable for users with edit rights only when all conditions are met.

Note: to distinguish editable cells from non-editable cells, it is useful to assign a specific colour to editable cells (see Layout options details).

Paste set of values function

In Excel, this function allows you to copy, using the ‘Copy’ command, and then paste a set of values. Only areas of adjacent cells can be selected and pasted and any non-editable cells present in those areas will not be considered.

In data entry web forms, the combinations CTRL+C and CTRL+V can be used to copy a block of cells and paste it onto a block of editable cells. If the copied block contains one or more non-editable cells, these will not be coped. This function can also be used to copy/paste from sources external to the form. However, if a paste a set of values operation has previously been performed in the web form, this will overwrite any subsequent copies from external forms.

Quick search cells

For web form cells containing value selection lists, it is possible to perform quick searches of the list’s values directly in the cell. To do this, simply initiate and enter the text to search for.

The text search is performed on the codes or descriptions of the elements in the list, or on both if the selection list contains both codes and descriptions.

The search function does not take differences between uppercase and lowercase or special search characters such as ‘*’ and ‘?’ into account.
