Data entry modes

Introduction

The ways in which financial statement data can be loaded to CCH Tagetik are listed below. The various methods can be used in combination. By default, data entry is enabled on all processes.

Data entry from Excel forms

This method allows you to enter data in a guided manner and directly into the CCH Tagetik database using specially prepared Excel spreadsheets.

Procedure

  1. Open the form in Data Entry mode ().
  2. Enter data in editable cells.

Note: editable cells are highlighted in a specific colour: yellow for cells that can contain gross amounts and green for cells that can contain both gross amounts and intercompany declarations.

Data entry from web forms

This method allows you to enter data in a guided manner and directly into the CCH Tagetik database using specially prepared web forms.

Procedure

  1. Open the data entry form ().
  2. Enter data in editable cells.

Note: editable cells are highlighted in yellow or a dedicated colour.

Data entry from data entry windows

This method allows you to enter data completely manually. It is not recommended for entering an entire financial statement, but is recommended for inserting edits or new journals on financial statement data that have already been loaded.

Procedure

  1. Open the data entry form from the cockpit of the desired process ().
  2. Select the desired entity or node.
  3. From Actions > Edit windows, select the desired action.
  4. Enter data by adding a row and completing the required elements.

Data entry via ETL

You can extract data from external sources, process them and then load them to CCH Tagetik via an ETL (Extraction, Transformation and Loading) routine. This procedure is recommended when the accounting data have been inserted previously, e.g. in Excel files or other formats. For details on the data loading procedure, see .

Data entry using copy functions

Data on gross amounts, intercompany entries and entity and consolidation adjustment journals can also be loaded using the copy functions present in the various pages of CCH Tagetik. These functions allow you to copy the data of a specific entity onto another scenario/period, or onto another entity on the same scenario/period or a different scenario/period.

Data entry using utilities

This method allows you to load data using algebraic operations. In particular, you can load data on the same scenario or among different scenarios. See .
