Working with CCH® Tagetik functions

The add-in provides simplified wizards in the side panel for the definition of TGK.DISPLAY and TGK.VAL functions, which, by means of graphical tools, allow you to create formulas to return a value or dimensional elements, respectively.

Create a formula to return a value

Excel > CCH Local > Formula

  1. Select an empty cell on the Excel sheet, click on Formula in the Excel toolbar and choose the TGK.VAL option. The corresponding wizard will be shown in the side panel.
  2. Select the desired application from the list of applications. Only those for which a login has been made will be selectable.
  3. Select the Reporting View
  4. Select the Measure
  5. Optional: if necessary, dimensional filters can be added to the formula. Click Add filter and select the desired dimension from the list or a reference to a cell containing a filter previously defined with TGK.FILTER, TGK.OR or TGK.DISPLAY. A new section for the selected dimension will be added to the panel, allowing filter criteria to be specified.
  6. Click CONFIRM to generate the formula in the selected cell or CANCEL to cancel the operation.

Create a formula to return dimensional elements

Excel > CCH® Tagetik Analytics > Formula

  1. Select an empty cell on the Excel sheet, click on Formula in the Excel toolbar and choose the TGK.DISPLAY option. The corresponding wizard will be shown in the side panel.
  2. Select the desired application from the list of applications. Only those for which a login has been made will be selectable.
  3. Select the dimension.
  4. Select dimensional elements or a cell containing a filter previously defined with TGK.FILTER, TGK.OR or TGK.DISPLAY.
  5. Optional: if necessary, enter a text to be displayed in the cell containing the formula.
  6. Click UPDATE to generate the formula in the selected cell or EXPAND BY ROWS, EXPAND BY COLUMNS to generate multiple formulas across rows or columns—one for each selected item. Click CANCEL to cancel operations.

Edit a formula

Excel > CCH® Tagetik Analytics > Formula

  1. Select on the Excel sheet a cell containing the TGK.DISPLAY or TGK.VAL formula to be modified
  2. Click the formula button to access the panel for making changes
