How to set limits

Once in the Settings section (see User manual page Settings section ), it will be possible for Admin users to set limits for matrix rows/columns for all smartinsights in an application database.

There will be the 4 fields concerning block and warning limits for rows and columns.

If at least one of the fields is changed, the 'Save' button is enabled. Bear in mind that the warning limits cannot exceed the relevant blocking limits,

  • It is not possible to set a limit less than 1 in any of the fields. Should the user try to enter a value less than this, the value 1 will still be displayed.
  • It is not possible to set a limit greater than 1000000 for rows. Should the user try to enter a value greater than this, the value 1000000 will still be displayed and the user will receive the following warning: 'Attention, the maximum number of rows is 1,000,000'.
  • It is not possible to set a limit greater than 10000 for the columns. Should the user try to enter a value greater than this, the value 10000 will still be displayed and the user will receive the following warning: 'Attention, the maximum number of columns is 10,000'.

This information is visible under each field in the Settings section.

If a warning limit is entered that exceeds the relevant blocking limit, the user will be warned by the following message "Warning, column warning limit exceeds column blocking limit" with regard to columns, and by the following message "Warning, row warning limit exceeds row blocking limit" with regard to rows, and will not be able to select the "Save" button.

When the user selects the 'Save' button, the following confirmation message is displayed: 'Changes saved successfully'.

The limit change operation is recorded in the Audit table with the description 'SmartInsight limits settings change'.
