Purpose of the page¶
This page allows you to set up the categories for the selected logic. The category defines the data to be read and where to insert the generated journals.

| Category | Category, or nodes of the category group, associated with the data to be read. Only the available “Amount” or “Entity journal” categories are shown. Note: by definition, the intercompany declaration is included in the individual data of an entity, and those data are identified by the aggregation between the Amount and Entity journal categories. |
| Generated category | Category to be used for the elimination consolidation journal. This is always a “Consolidation journal” category. Generally, a node of categories containing the whole of the entity’s contribution is set as the category from which to read the data and a single category type is set as the generated category, or it is eliminated in a single journal type. It can be useful to specify different categories from which to generate data, depending on the category from which the data is read, to obtain the following outcomes: - Catalogue the consolidation journals: journals on different categories can be brought onto different rows or columns of forms. - Process different accounting standards at the same time, keeping the data separate during consolidation. This is obtained by keeping different target categories when the data to be eliminated originate from categories that relate to different accounting standards. |
| Category for FX rate difference | Category to be used to generate journals for IC FX rate differences. It may be the same as the generated category. |
