Consolidation journals

Introduction

Consolidation journals allow the consolidator user to perform the following actions:

  • supplement journals generated by CCH Tagetik
  • enter manual adjustment entries for the consolidation (e.g. eliminations of intercompany profits, depreciation of goodwill, dividend write offs, etc.)

Consolidation journals are processed as entity journals, however they have the following particular features:

  • they are allocated to the “consolidation journals” category
  • they generally involve two entities

Consolidation journal types

Consolidation journals are classified depending on the type of consolidation operation that they represent:

  • elimination of dividends
  • revaluations/write-downs of financial investments
  • elimination of financial investments
  • valuation at net equity
  • net equity reclassification (NER)
  • intercompany eliminations
  • currency conversion
  • minorities calculation
  • valuation of entities at equity
  • mergers
  • deconsolidation
  • other consolidation journals
