Data entry in work off-line mode

Introduction

It is also possible to work on data entry forms in Excel without being linked to a CCH Tagetik or without Excel installed, but with a compatible application capable of opening and saving XLSX files available (e.g. Open Office Google Apps, Office 365). To do this work off-line mode must be activated. This allows you to download a copy of the form locally and use it as a normal Excel spreadsheet, to then re-upload it to CCH Tagetik at the end of the data entry session. The data are first saved on the form, then transferred to the operational database.

When a form is downloaded in off-line mode, it can no longer be opened in data entry mode with the same filters by any user, until it has been uploaded to CCH Tagetik again. This lock is not subject to any timeouts set in configuration, but is removed by the current user when they return to online mode.

Note: when the form contains Analytical Workspace data only, if the Show user data only option is active in all the reference datasets, then the form will not be locked (see Forms page).

Forced return to online mode

If the contributor user does not return to online mode, the form used off-line will be locked. If necessary, the administrator user can override the lock via a specific unlock window, which also allows the administrator to monitor the status of a form. See Locked data entry forms page.
