Headers
What they are for¶
By default, when the form is run, in the matrix table the row/column filters are identified by the table description of the dimension to which the dimensional elements of the filters refer.
Note: if the additional information Segment, FX rate, Reference FX rate, Weight is defined for dimensions on which a header is defined, then the system shows those properties at the end of the header (see Layout options details).
For example, for the scenario filter 2021 Actuals, in the Matrix Wizard the predefined header is Description ($Scenario.desc), which recovers the description in the scenario table.
To facilitate the reading of tables and/or supplement the row/column descriptions, customised headers can be set for every filter. In particular, the predefined description can be replaced or supplemented with one or more descriptions, linked in a chain, from those available for the dimension. Alternatively, it is possible to replace the description with a dictionary item which, once created on the row or column, is available among the headers.
When multiple descriptions are set, it is possible to choose whether to display the information in a single cell, separated by the "|" sign, or on several different cells on the same row, see Setting headers.
Advanced Headers¶
In some cases, it is necessary to compose more complex headers, the definition of which depends not only on the dimensions used as filters, but also on all other dimensions available in the system. In this case, it is possible to use an advanced editor, the Cell Fields Wizard, which allows you to set how the text of attributes not related to the dimension is displayed in the cells (see Cell fields).
Descriptive information regarding the entire matrix cannot be inserted as headers, but only using cell fields.
