Cell fields

Function of cell fields

In the matrix configuration phase, when a dimension element is not defined in the form as a row or column filter, it is clearly not possible to retrieve its description from among the matrix headers. To do this, it is useful to insert Cell fields directly into the spreadsheet to allow you view the desired attribute, related to the dimensions used in the form or otherwise, in a header cell (e.g. details of elements defined as matrix filters, form filters or tab filters). Cell fields are also useful for audit purposes.

For example, when the user wants to view, in a cell, information on the last user to open the form and the date on which it was opened, it is possible to create a cell field with the following phrase, for example: User USER1 ran the form on 10/08/2020. This phrase contains two text-based parts ("User" and "ran the form on"), one piece of parametric information that refers to the user name (User function) and one that refers to the date on which the form was opened (runDate function).
