Diagnostics
Purpose of the diagnostic feature¶
The diagnostic feature allows you to verify the correctness of the data entered into CCH Tagetik. The check is performed against general validation rules, which can also be overridden at the individual process level. This makes the diagnostic feature highly customisable.
It is used for the following purposes:
- in automatic balancing data processes, to compensate for unbalanced amounts that fall within certain tolerance thresholds
- during the entity and journal data submission procedure, to prevent it from being finalised in case of blocking errors
- with the 'Control Group balancing' function (available for the journal rows), to manually edit the unbalanced amounts.
Control types¶
Checks on the accuracy of data entered into CCH Tagetik are divided into three main categories:
- account validation rules and control group validation rules
- plausibility logics
- other checks
Diagnostic data processing and custom diagnostic¶
Depending on the page it is launched from, the diagnostic data processing may run immediately or open a dialog window for entering additional parameters.
In the first case, the data processing run parameters are derived from the selections that led to the specific page from which the data processing is launched. In the second case, the run parameters must be specified in the dialog window.
